Dear Yuletider..
I have to admit, I'm rubbish at this part - just as annoying with presents actually, I never know what I want. On the flip side, I'm always grateful and happy with anything I get so anything you write will be loved and adored:-)
On to the requests!
1.Uncharted
Okay, I'm a Playstation game obsessive but I really like the games with character and stories, and in the absence of Dragon Age on the form, Uncharted is my next obsessive game. I love the characters and interactions. I particularly liked the implied histories that occured between Nate and Harry Flynn. Something that would deal with a past story would delight me. But honestly? I'd like any interaction, missing scene involving any of the characters, or wild specualtion or AU premises if he stories had gone a little differences. If you are familiar with the game you know that they leave a lot of questions unanswered. Possible answers would be great!
2. Belgariad/ Mallorean.
This is a favourite of mine and should I ever just randomly pick up one of the series I usually end up reading the whole lot. I like all the characters and would be happy with anything about any of them, but I particularly liked Silk, who is very key in a lot of ways and complex, but we don't get a whole lot of history on him. He knows people everywhere so I was always convinced there were a lot of stories to tell. Alternatively, the stuff about the Will and the Word delighted me as well. There was the fun side of it and the serious side and I enjoyed Garion learning about it and occassionally getting it horribly wrong. stories about tha would amuse me greatly.
3. Nation
Nation was a very powerful book in a lot of ways, but I particularly liked the imagery of the myths and legends in it. The dolphins, the gods, the spirit world, the way they recreated that understanding of things differently in the wake of disaster. I really got the impression that they were in the middle of creating a new mythology with the human side and the mystic side entwined. I'm not actually sure exactly what I would like for this, just maybe something to do with this side of things - the gods, the dolphins, the new legends perhaps.
4. Discworld
Ah, Discworld - a treasure trove of characters all of whom I love. My particular favourites are Vimes and the Guards and the Witches. I have to admit, I really enjoyed Tiffany Aching in the last book, where she is at the trying to fix everything and not yet learning the power of delegation. I like the interaction between her and Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg ( the bit at the funeral with Nanny Ogg was classic and made me wonder if she would actually try and go and learn from her). I also admit to squeeing aloud at the identity of the mystery witch - that was awesome. It was implied strongly that they would have future dealings and I would love to see some of that. Vimes and the Guards fill me with general happiness and I love their whole attitude. They do cameo's in other discworl books, where the action revolves around someone like William de Worde, the Wizards, or Moist von Lipwig, so I wouldn't mind seeing some of those incidents from their side. That would be cool!
In general though, I like pretty much anything.I've tried to provide a hint of what I like! I hope it helps. Just rest assured I'll be ecstatic with anything!
