While I know that MSNBC is not that best source for news, it is the easiest to access while sitting in my cubicle. So what I have seen yesterday and today just makes me sick.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9156612/ What the fuck is wrong with us.
First some Bush bashing, it makes me feel better. So let me get this strait, cities start being destroyed on Monday, you are roused from your work vacation (whatever that is) on Tuesday and demand a report to you on Wednesday. And I thought my office was inefficient. On Good Morning America today Diane Sawyer pointed out that Bush had the same look on his face yesterday as he did looking at 9/11. I like to call it his “Oh shit!” face. It is that mix of bewilderment and sadness. The realiziation that he is being called apon to be the president, only this time there is no one to attack.
How fucking long does it take to get these people some food and water. The above article proclaims that people eventually started “looting” food and water from the concession stands inside the Superdome. I don’t call that looting, I call that survival. The bigger question should be why who ever owns that concession stand, or even some one who knew it was there didn’t just open it up. If those people had some food and water yesterday it would never have gotten to this point. It just makes me sick (yes again) to think of some elderly person dieing of heat stroke with water right there in the fraking building!
Now on to the loonies that I talk to on the phone all day. Certain members of the RV community now want to drive down in a caravan to offer their RVs for people to live in. First, I hate to be cynical but this is just a ploy so you can get a good look at the devastation. I know you. You spend your life watching the weather channel, its your version of reality TV and now you want a piece. You disgust me. Secondly, it’s impractical. You can fit what, maybe 4 at the max 6 people in your rig and it takes up at minimum a 40x20 site. Have you ever dry camped before? I sure as hell don’t want to be in an RV without electricity in 95-degree weather that feels like 105. What about the waste? Are you going to pay for the too? All the RV parks anywhere close to the area are filled with RV owners that escaped the devastation. What are you going to do build more parks, fill the Wal-Mart Parking lots? Yea that will work. Furthermore, I’m not sure that hundreds of RVs getting 6 miles to the gallon driving hundreds of miles is the best solution to the problem right now. Maybe if you hadn’t voted frat boy for president we would actually have some services out there to help these people. Just donate what ever you can to the Red Cross or FEMA or whatever and stop emailing ME!
