"...No more under the quilt to keep you warm..."

In response to a suggestion from this entry...

What's the first thing you think of when you see/hear the words "Mount Holyoke"?This was actually a tough question for me to answer, mainly because there are so many things that I could write, so many things that I want to share.  My first thought is always, "The Valley."   Mount Holyoke College was ( Read more... )

Aww. *warm fuzzies* As you might have guessed, I was looking for this kind of post-graduate, "I survived my senior year" perspective.

Thanks for this. :)

You're very welcome :). It was definitely a pleasure to write.

I ended up with my own mean case of the warm 'n fuzzies as I was writing that entry. I will admit that senior year has many "I can't take this anymore. I have too much work and not enough time. How am I ever going to enjoy anything?" moments. But Senior Week makes it all worthwhile, I promise. There will never be enough time, but what you do have will be fabulous :).

Good luck...Have fun...Don't be too hard on yourself.

my biggest regret, thus far, is that i kept letting myself get pulled away from the Valley. I'm working on it. I'm going to find a way to return and never have to be pulled away from it ever again even if it means, in the meantime, i am over an hour and a half away...

I'm sure you will be back in the Valley soon enough. Hard to believe you're back in MA as it is.

I take a similar approach to my current physical relationship with the Valley: "I'm only an hour away; I can visit often enough." I find ways to get there when I can ;).

*HUGS* Perseph. Its easy to be sentimental about MHC. When I first walked the campus, it had such an amazing vibe to it. When I came to know the women there, it became magical.

Your relationship to MHC is fascinating to me :). I think Jon had similar pangs when I graduated. Although he never actually went there, he became familiar with the institution, and it was an important part of both our lives. It's hard not to see pictures of MHC and squeal like a fangrrl.

I completely understand. I had a similar reaction to coming here for college so many years ago, and I truly came of age and discovered who I was here. The lure of the Valley was strong enough that, after having left it in 1993, I spent most of the next six years trying to figure out how to come back home. I'm not inclined to leave it again.

Now that I've been away from the Valley for the first time in six years, I understand how it is to miss the place and want to do anything to get back there.

Soon. Soon.

I think of a bald headed art student that I used to know. She also always wore black.
