Today it is sunny if chilly, and I am enjoying seeing the nicer weather coming in. Yesterday for Mother's Day my girls got me two new bird feeders, and I can't wait to hang them up in the elm tree outside my office window. They even got me squirrel baffles to hang overtop, and I look forward to seeing those thieving little rodents go sliding off ( Read more... )

Where and when are you seeing "Hair"? I've wanted to find a performance of that to take some people to!

Laurel Mill Playhouse is doing it. It opens this weekend and runs through the first weekend in June. :)

Be sure you hang the bird feeders far from the trunk. My parents had a squirrel they nicknamed "Suicide Sam" because it would launch itself from the tree-trunk, slam into the feeder, fall to the ground, and then groggily start to gorge itself on the seeds that fell with it. ;-)

I'll take a groggy headed squirrel! I'm afraid if I hang it from the trunk, it will just climb on and bite the heck out of the feeder itself - I've had that happen several times! Not sure we hung it far enough from the trunk to prevent suicide dives...will have to watch over the next few days. :)
