So I joined okCupid.com. I figure it's going to be an experience whether I meet someone or not. It'll be an adventure at any rate. So far there have been a few dudes who have contacted me that actually seem very cool. I've even added one of them on facebook. I'm giving myself plenty of time before I meet anyone for real. But it should be ( Read more... )

Sorry about the kitty. And you probably did hit a fox but you made the right decision.

I'm also on OKC as metricula. I like it. The quiver function has hooked me up with some interesting conversations.

Just be warned: as a girl on the site you're gonna get a lot of messages!

I'm still figuring out the OKC etiquette!! What's the procedure for when a dude messages you and you look at his profile and even though it might be shallow you know it's a "No, thanks." Do you not respond? Rip the band-aid off before he has a chance to send a half-dozen messages back and forth? I'm currently having about 12 different conversations, 2 of which are actually with interesting guys.

I know you always hear those success stories! Here's hoping! Also Gin (Bryan's gf) said she tried online dating when she was my age and had a blast, meeting a lot of interesting people and some train wrecks. So far there's one dude who I'm going to meet in person. And a few maybes.

I won't be able to make it up to Lolla because we have shows over that time. :( I think she was still going to try to go though, or visit some other time this summer. It depends more on our financial situations than anything else. Blasted economy!!

i don't think there's anything weird or unacceptable about meeting someone online. people need to get with the times. the internet is an excellent resource for everything!

also, BUMMER! i understand the economy woes. fingers crossed though!

Aw, I remember Chelsea and Bob -- I remember coming to visit and you guys being like "Bob is around here somewhere, probably up in the ceiling. You may never see him":)
