Generally, when things are going well in my life, I'm terrible at updating. So hooray for no recent updates!

Christmas was good. Had a very divided holiday--half of it at my Mom's, half at my Dad's, both very different scenes. My Mom's house was: decorations, frosting cookies, putting together a jigsaw puzzle of the Last Supper, Grandparents, ( Read more... )

My friend Caroline married a guy from Melbourne...they lived over there for a while and are now in the States for her to finish school for a while. I could ask her about how he's able to stay her legally for this time she's in school, but I have a feeling it's easier being married, yeah? Not suggesting you should do that impulsively...I'd say you shouldn't:)

Yeah, marriage is definitely the easiest way to get somebody into this country legally. But neither one of us want to get married for that reason. It's tempting, though...all the other ways are expensive (thousands to tens of thousands depending on whether it's a Student or Work Visa) or take years and years. But we're going to figure something out that doesn't involve rushing into a lifelong commitment. I'm sure it'll work out fine.
