Happy New Year! May it be a good one. The past one has gone well for me and mine, for which I am grateful, though I am sorry for the many who have had losses

It is backwards, isn't it? I suppose it's the accountability thing. If I fail someone else's requirements, they'll yell at me.
I'm somewhat less than impressed with myself for putting "Be more decisive" in my resolutions, editing them several times, and then deleting the whole list in a fit of exasperation, partly because I was embarrassed after someone else's remark (not to me) that people were always making resolutions and forgetting them two weeks in, but they personally made a limited number and usually kept them. The absurdity is a bit reduced because some of the edits were because I'd honestly forgotten something I'd been planning to include, but still.
Perhaps I shall re-post them tomorrow. Now, I should probably sleep.
Hello! Stopping by to let you know why I just friended you--I devoured your 'Time's Riddle' series this morning, and someone who can write like that--and (presumably from your references to labs and getting your Ph.D) is a scientist--is someone worth getting to know and worth learning from.
Given the paucity of entries for '09, however, I thought I'd ask: is this your primary online home? I know many people who separate 'RL' and fandom activities, especially when the former leaves little time for the latter.
Er, probably a bit much for an introduction, that. So I'll finish with saying thank you for freely sharing that gift of a series, and reminding me what the fanfic can be at its best. And 'duck tape' made me laugh and laugh and laugh. And should you be feeling adventurous, many of us fandom-types (and non-fandom types alike) have been gleefully enjoying dreamwidth.org, an lj-fork which finally moved into Open Beta at the end of April '09. I've got a few extra invites if you'd like to give it a try.

I need to learn to require myself, too. Why does that never seem as easy as following someone else's requirements? Something's backwards about that.
Hope all the things you need to do go smoothly. :)

Alan and I had a wonderful time writing Time's Riddle, and I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it so much.
I haven't exactly gone anywhere, really -- I just haven't been posting very much. I appreciate the offer of Dreamwidth invitations, though. :)
