Title: Bedtime Story
Characters: Klaus, Lucrezia, Agatha
Explanation: I was inspired by an ongoing storyline in Othar's Twitter, particularly the May 20 2009 entry. In this fic, Lucrezia has gotten control of Agatha's body again and has publicly established a Wulfenbach-Heterodyne alliance by marriage to the slaver-wasped Baron. I think that ( Read more... )

I adore this. :) You know that. It's just so incredibly creepy. It handles Klaus's reactions so beautifully, with the despair and the worrying about maybe starting to want to submit. His thoughts of Gil are just heart-breaking, and Agatha's reaction when she hears is very sniffle-worthy.

I absolutely wanted to cry at the last line. Oh Klaus.

*hugs you* You are so sweet.

I was really hoping Gil was organizing a rebellion/rescue somewhere less depopulated at first, but nooooo, they had to kill him off. (I am currently ignoring the possibility that he's secretly in storage in Castle Heterodyne or something. I'm not sure it helps. Anyway the timeline seems clearly supposed to be totally hopeless.)

And thank you for mentioning Agatha's reaction. She holds up for the basic predictable bits of what Lucrezia's been doing, but....

You know what makes it enough worse that I almost added another line of narration? That probably means he went to sleep with his arm over her. Insult to injury. Blergh.

Of course, Agatha did remove the existing commands. Klaus doesn't remember that, but they're still gone. So the question is whether the habit of not saying stuff is so engrained, or will he finally (confusingly) be able to tell someone about Lucrezia?

That's true.

It probably won't do any good, given the timeline, but he does have more freedom than he did. And if he figures out (so it would seem) that he can violate that command, I think he will -- if he can find somebody to tell.

I considered writing it from Agatha's POV at the start, and I think it might actually be a bit easier now that I don't have to fumble around with when she loses the struggle again -- but of course it would be sort of redundant misery. Unless maybe I wrote multiple occasions. She'd remember.

But, well. They rather obviously lose.

I was hoping at first that he was somewhere plotting rebellion/rescue, in the twitterline, but apparently not. :(

Does this mean there's an actual reason for me to get a twitter account now? WHAT AM I MISSING?!

Story is AMAZING, by the way.

Thank you. And no, actually you can read it all without one and follow the LJ feed if you want updates sans twitter. There's an archive on the GG website and then after it ends you'll have to follow it at the Twitter website, but it's not hidden or anything. Username's Othar.

OH. I misunderstood you; I thought there was a bonus storyline in the twitter feed. No, I'm an avid reader and fan of GG!

I think I muddled the explanation. There is a bonus storyline in the twitter feed. It's the adventures of Othar. Currently I believe he's in an alternate future. But you don't need a twitter account to read them, and there is an archive on the regular Girl Genius website of the first few twitter-adventures so that you can read them without digging back to the start of the twitter account.
