So much good stuff in this chapter--I love the discussion of science/magic, and that Thor gets to be helpful with fixing what he broke. And Loki being just like Odin makes perfect sense; given their relationship he'd wind up either imitating (consciously or unconsciously) him or trying to be his opposite. Poor thing hasn't yet realized (as Thor seems to have done) that he's allowed to simply be himself and doesn't have to base that self off his (adopted) father.

And I forgot to mention how awesome all the little details are--Sigyn touching the walls at the beginning of her scene with Jane, Loki's half-full glass (which he probably sees as half-empty), Thor's observation about the bifrost bit looking like it's been licked and Sigyn's response "close enough".

Well worth a little waiting.

Thank you -- for commenting and for pointing out the details! :) The science/magic scene is what took forever -- my fault -- and Khilari had to rein me in from infodumping. (The scene was much better after that.)

Loki is partly trying to prove himself to Odin still, even if he won't admit it, as a competent rival if not as a good son. And the elder Loki is perhaps inclined to draw comparisons. *g* And sees some similarities that the younger Loki has no actual way of knowing about, from when Odin was younger, wilder, and new to things.

I had not even thought about the half-full/empty glass, although possibly Khilari (who wrote it) did. :D

I'm picturing the retrieved piece of Bifrost having acquired the texture of sucked-on hard candy.

We're glad you're enjoying this and really appreciate the comments. :)

This fic is made of so many levels of awesomeness, I don't even know where to *start*. Guh. I'm absolutely loving how you've expanded the fic to include a lot of the realms of Yggdrasil, alien politics, magic/science (at this point, they're pretty much intertwined anyway) and how you've blended both mythology and movies versions of Thor together seamlessly. Of course, at the heart of it all are the characters and you've definitely done them justice with their characterization. Kudos to a job well done. :Db

Thank you so very much! I'm sorry it took me so long to respond to your extremely kind comment. Adapting the worlds and various characters and incidents is an interesting process. We're really having a wonderful time with it, even if I'm writing very slowly.
