summer - horrible

It's official... I can't comprehend a crap in chemistry nor physics... the practice tests have made me realise, over and over, that I'm no good for the real exam... i look at a passage, read the questions, and then i lose it... i can see, i can read, but i cannot comprehend... i feel like a moron, thinking how others who haven't taken MCAT tutoring ( Read more... )

Take a tiny break and then re-start. You are perhaps getting too nervous and disappointed with your practice tests. Do not. Sit calmly and start with a fresh mind. No negative thoughts. And take good care of health, esp during prep. time.
Good luck!

well, not just that... the time limit scares me - 100 mins to read the passage and answer 77 questions - which means, about a minute on average to read a question, think abt the answer, and definitely not fall in the traps set by other seemingly right answers... this doesn't quite scare me on the biology section or the verbal section; i can deal with it...

but it chokes me when it comes to chemistry since i do not have a full understanding of obscure seeming energy levels of different atoms, pKa's and pKb's and what not, which i can't picturize at all...

i'm now taking medications for my acid indigestion problem... i most likely will have to attempt the exam next year, with proper coaching...

thanks for the wishes :)... i'll definitely need all the luck i can get for this exam...

could it possibly be that u can't comprehend because u are thinking all this stuff that u wrote instead of just fully being in the moment of the test.

well, i end up being disappointed because of my lack of understanding of the passage and the questions that follow... i had no problems with bio, even when there were tough passages and questions... i can study bio; not saying i'm the best in it, but i'll be able to tackle it even in my worst moods...

but i just have this thing with chemistry... beyond a certain point, i can't just muck up information... i need real people explaining this to me why so and so happens and why not so and so happens... abstract principles just don't get in my head once they conflict with the visual images that i'm trying to make out from what i read... and it feels horrible when there's absolutely no other help from outside to turn u to the right direction... hence, the frustration...
