I only had interaction with him in combatives-training situations, but he seemed awesome. All of the DSs did, loathe though I usually am to admit it...

I loved DS Hyde. He was the entire reason I got out of Bravo in the first place-- he was very good at motivating his platoon without smoking us all the time.

I agree, though. The DSes were at least mostly honest and straightforward. The PLT SGTs... not often the same.
