Today we went to drop off some stuff at the charity shop, and in the store on a double leash were two beautiful Dobermanns. I asked if I could say hello, and the guy said sure, they are really friendly. so I skritched them and they all but purred, nooging into me and asking for more with head butts. What's their names,I asked, responding

I'm not really a pet person, but my friend Nikki has had German Shepherd dogs for some time. She recently lost Sherman at the age of 13, and has now acquired Samson *, who I'm getting on with quite nicely. I just have to be careful not to get so close that she'll entrust me with holiday care, there's no pets allowed in my house.

* Apparently the chain of GSDs has gone "Saxon", "Sabre", "Sherman", "Samson". You may have guessed that Nikki doesn't lisp.
