I could see Tatsuya, Minato, and Souji all in your application... But you don't exacly seem to be as stoic as Tatsuya (well as he's described since I haven't played P2) and Minato, so I think I'm gonna have to go with Souji. (Didn't we talk about this before? XD) Souji has always been the type that I'd consider to be quiet but not exactly a full-on introvert. In fact he's fairly fun around those he's comfortable with! He can seem cold and harsh but he's actually humorous, ambitious, hardworking, friendly, charming, passionate, and emotional (especially during a certain part in the game. He's usually cautious but he has acted on impulse, he can be calm or hyper depening on the situation, he's more emotional then stoic if you ask me, and I think that he's pretty independent in most parts of his life :)
After reading all the descriptions, I think that personally, you remind me the most of Naoya. He seems like an inwardly arrogant kind of guy to me, based on that expression he has on his main artwork, as well as passionate to a point, ambitious, hardworking, friendly and charming. I believe he also fits your negative traits well enough, especially compared to the other options I was thinking of. I think your personality description sounds the most like him, as well! Sadly, I can't add much since I haven't played this game, but you also fit the Emperor arcana in my head and it's his default, so I hope I make at least a little sense here.
I'm torn between Naoya and Tatsuya... I'm leaning a bit towards Naoya overall, as Tatsuya isn't as extroverted. I wouldn't call Naoya particularly extroverted either, but well, silent protagonists are silent and the whole "charming" trait kind of clashes with Tatsuya's apparent cold/aloofness. He also seems more likely to be an authoritative leader than most of the other options, as that tends to be something associated with the Empire Arcana in the other games in the series. (I... haven't played the first one, heh /fails) Several of your traits, like determined and hardworking, could apply to any of the options, but others don't apply to the others much, so a character whose personality is somewhat determined by the player (aside from the base good-leader and friendly part) seems the most fitting here.
I have had really hard time deciding who to give you. I also was torn between Tatsuya and Naoya with even some Minako here and there but in the end I think I will go with Naoya myself. While he seems like an introvert, I feel he is more extroverted than Tatsuya, he also seems more emotional than other male MCs, at least considering how supportive he actually is to his team and just basically how compassionate he can be? He does seem rather hard-working, friendly and perhaps even somewhat aggressive (not really in the sense he would throw things but the fact he is rather straightforward and has a good sense of leadership made me think that). The fact you said you'd retreat made me think of Naoya as well, considering he is kind to his friends and more like a father figure. I think fire would also fit him most out of the male protagonists, as well? As mentioned above, I would also say Emperor arcana kind of fits you so yes, I think Toudou fits the most.
You're a bit hard to place, and I debated with all the options, but my gut reaction was Naoya as well, so I'll go with that. (Going mostly off descriptions, I'm not so familiar with the characters.) Let's see, he seems to have your charm and emotional side without being too much, being rational enough while still being emotional, like you. I think he would come across to others how you described, and mostly match your traits - he seems balanced, ambitious, determined, hard-working, friendly, as well as your negative traits. I think he would also be the same kind of leader as you are, too. Overall I can just see him fitting you much better than the other options, since they seem to be more aloof/distant on the whole? While Naoya, on the other hand, seems rather personable, or at least flexible/ranged in terms of personality. So, yes, voting Naoya for you.
