[ Erik finds him a little later, trailing through the house, testing the weight of his powers on small, insignificant things. He can't quite seem to reach the height of what Charles expects of him, knows that it's something to do with the situation. He needs to be furious, but anger doesn't come so quick here, wandering the walls of his new companion's home. ]

Distracted? [ His voice is warm and quiet behind Charles, bordering on the smallest hint of amusement. ] How you ever finished your degree -.

Oh, peace and quiet I supposed. [ Charles smiles in a quaint manner as he abandons all schoolwork to give Erik the entirety of his attention. The papers left as they are with a book on top to keep them from flying off. ]

Something on you're mind? Perhaps we should have another round of chess, if you don't mind. [ He gets up from his seat, blue eyes reflecting the same fondness as his smile. ] Or perhaps it's that point in the day where I drink is more appropriate first.

Always so quick to enquire about my thoughts. [ His hands are tucked into the pockets of his slacks, polo shirt dark against the light of the day, and it's a wonder how he wanders around with all those thick layers on, but he doesn't seem all that bothered by it. ]

Ah, a drink. Is it all that bad, Professor? [ The quickest flash of a grin. ] Pour then. I'll set up your board.

Natural curiosity. I can't help but feel compelled sometimes. [ Watching Erik for all of that extra moment before moving around his desk to the liquor cabinet he kept in the study (you know, in case he needed something to help him think), pulling out a couple of glasses and filling them with one of the finer liquors he kept locked up in there. Nothing terribly heavy for now. Just a peach schnapps. It looked enough like a whiskey that he figured Erik might enjoy a slight change of pace. ]

But please, if you would, I'd much appreciate it. [ Sealing the bottle before placing it back away, he proceeded forward with a drink in each hand. ]
