Who: Charles Xavier (
groovyprof), Closed to Erik Lehnsherr (
atthemercyof)
What: Winding down after a day of training.
Charles was pacing about his room, not doubting that Erik wouldn't show, but more of wondering when. He had managed to sneak downstairs, past the children and Raven in order to snag an entire bottle of wine for the evening but it was quickly warming and due to his own personal preference, he did quite like it cold. The bucket with ice was helping however.
He put his fingers to his lips, second guessing everything as of late. Maybe he had gone a touch to far with all of this. He didn't want to scare Erik away, but he could sense, at least to some extent that Erik wanted the same thing but Charles knew they both didn't have a very good track record with relationships, specially that of romantic involvement because well, Erik never really had the opportunity for one and Charles... Charles had bigger trust issues than he'd ever like to admit. It was easy to blame the other person in the relationship. Those odd moments where his date found another male in the restaurant attractive or appealing. The way she thought of their waiter as an fumbling idiot. They way she wished she had purchased something more expensive or had seen another movie.
Yes, it was easy to blame them but on the few occasions that Charles had in fact turned away the few that had an honest crush, admiration and respect for him, he had felt like a criminal. It wouldn't have worked anyways. But here he was, waiting for a man of all things because he had never met anyone quite like Erik before and even if he tried to reason himself out of it, he knew he'd just keep attempting to find his way back. Perhaps it was because Mr. Lehnsherr was so positively magnetic.
