Reaching back... wicky_42 June 18 2006, 20:36:17 UTC
Interesting, isn't it? I was shredding some very, very old papers -- checks, bills, receipts, etc. Approximately, 25 years old.

Going back that far was unsettling, to say the least. All it took were the tiny little messages on the checks, the "memo" lines. Example: "Payment for the belly land." Remember that?

The mind plays tricks when it's going back into someone else's mind.

Wow. That is something I hadn't thought about in quite some time: The Belly Land. Weird.
It amazes me sometimes how things that at one time had such importance and focus completely abandon the mind. I loved visiting that little plot of land. I looked forward to it with zeal. And there is not a way I could have consciously brought it's memory into my thoughts without it being shaken out.
What a gift. Thanks, mom.
