"politics of fear"

Oct 15, 2010 09:57

Why do we accept our own personal fears and hates, even as we suggest that others’ fears and hates are bad signs about them?

Relative to low status folks, high status folks have less occasion to fear or hate. Complaining that your opponents have a “politics of fear” or hate is really just complaining about their low status [ :) ]

What is going on? Where are you getting all this political discourse? I though you avoided that stuff.

You ain't seen NOTHING yet. "I think governments should be replaced with my personal art projects," is my favorite new motto.

I have to smile at your reaction that somehow "RH" at OverpoweringFalsehood -- I mean OvercomingBias -- was coming off as political discourse. This weekend, Hanson might be out hitting the pavement canvassing to slow down humanity's asexual reproduction once we upload out of these neurons. Seriously!

I am following random news as a whimsical experiment since this summer, and I meant to journal that revealing personal fact in one of my recent batches of 9 overnight posts. 'News' is inherently political.

It is inherently political. It's like heroin. Extra bad/good.
