A Saudi-funded Islamic school says it is removing from text books controversial passages which allegedly brand other faiths as "worthless"

Religion has always been rewritten and manipulated to suit the contemporary political and social climate. In the case of the Bible (I know very little about other faiths so don't feel confident in making generalisations) it was partly written as a way to control people for the good of society. What they are doing now is hardly any different. If you argue they shouldn't reinterpret the Bible, or any other religious text for that matter, then you are arguing for all religions to remain static for the first time in their history, and that will cause them to die out as they become utterly irrelevant and unworkable.

Ha. Well I don't disagree, I'm just saying your initial argument against this step in schools is flawed for that reason.
