tonight on NPR they were talking about myths and science and someone was saying that we have stopped finding faith in stories and stars and only assign meaning to each other and thus we are spinning crazilily off course, out of perspective, out of the loop of the Earth and the sky that cradles it. they said that science and molecules and stars and all the Secrets of the universe are amazing because it is only because of how the human mind works that we are able to find patterns and therefore "understand" it in our very 2+2 sense of the word. they talked about the ancient egyptians and proposed that their extensive myths and stories had something to do with the success of their civilization that lasted 3,000 years.

later, in a supposedly unrelated story, they shared audio of rippling sound from jupiter.
