When I put Isaac to bed, he likes to hold something in his hands as he falls asleep. It's usually really random stuff, too. Like for his naptime, he was holding the dvd remote in one hand, and a pair of sunglasses in the other. For bedtime, he was holding a bracelet and a can opener

Does Isaac have pink eye?

No. I've taken him to the ped about it. He (the pedatrician) said that if the whites of the eyes are not pink or red, then it's not pinkeye. That means it's either an allergic reaction or a viral infection.

It's much better today. He rubbed the gunk off by himself and he has been waking up much happier. The eye gunk is going away to some degree, so I think it's probably viral.

In that case try using fresh breastmilk to clean it when it needs cleaning. Not a research based thing but still well known.
