Texas is very different from Oregon. There are tons of factors that come into play. I am being cruel. But it's necessary. Houston is slowly coming to Austin. I don't know if you checked the homicide rates in different parts of Texas since New Orleans. The streets show signs. You have to walk the streets long enough to know which signs go first. The south doesn't treat women the same as up north. It's culture shock to say the least.
