Hospitalization is a form of institutionalization. Jail. Prison. Military. Solitary. Physical "abuse." Mental "abuse." "Psychological" programming. At my current job the seclusion/isolation rooms do not have padded walls, but we can make them padded (and have), have a drain in the floor, awful flourescent lighting, white walls, greenish blue flooring. Optional lock. We have three iso rooms per cottage.

They're to be used as a last resort, when a physical restraint goes on for too long or is not working. We do not use them in cases of self harm, and the rooms are monitored for video and sound
