I don't appreciate being told what I can and cannot say. EVEN IF it does offend someone to their very core. The thing about language is that no one OWNS it and that it is always changing and the same word has a multitude of connotations which reflect the many and varied world views, life experiences, moral beliefs, and historical baggage of its users. Don't impose your reality and your experiences on me and try to force me to discard my own.

And I am frankly bashing my head against the wall when I read someone drawing a false analogy between gravity and miscgenation. Gravity is not a social construct. Race, racism and all the baggage that goes with it is.

I missed the first round of wank debate on this topic, and I don't watch d_d, so I'm very out of it.

That said, I think "miscegenation" in HP settings should be limited to its root meaning: mixed genus. So Snape/Firenze, or Harry/Dobby, or Hermione/Hagrid, and so on. Not Draco/Blaise or Kingsley/Remus.
