Firstly I can't believe that I have never commented on this story before. I adore all your writing but Puppy Love has definatly been a favourite for quite some time. It's an absolutly fabulous story!

Secondly I think you really answered all the complaints regarding why Spike is acting so harshly towards Xander. I think that people are used to Spike acting human in fanfiction as well as toward the end of Buffy and so felt that this fiction would portray Spike that way as well. Your story has always made it clear that Spike is first and foremost a demon however in the chapters following Drusilla leaving, Spike acted rather human. So when he started abusing Xander I think that people wondered why he was so harsh as he had not been that way before.

This chapter definatly made that clear though. Great work!
