When Love Doesn't Love You Back - A Poem
How does it feel when love doesn't love you back?
When it remains unsaid
Truth unknown
Lips unparted to breath your name
Can you stand to watch it in front of you?
Will you live another day without it in your mist?
Love, so beautifully cruel to the beating heart
Can one truly live this way?
Knowing that a smile knows them but dares not speak their name
Cruel and villainous, such a word
Four little letters
L-O-V-E
But then the dawn reigns on your heart
And hope appears
Another cruelty added to the vicious wound inside you
A hot searing blade that flows through your soul
Can you begin to envision this madness
Sinking you to an abyss of dwendling affection
Smiling upon you as if the world will spin for you forever
Telling you...
Later...
I'll tell you later!
Keep waiting tomorrow will come!
We will meet once more
Death is better than never knowing the possibility of love
A woman, A man?
Old, Young?
Black, White?
Beautiful, Ugly?
Fat , Skinny?
Virgin , Experienced?
Fate and time are nothing without an end
The built up agony from within
A choice left unmade
A will waiting on the ponderance of time
Betraying everything in one's self for a desperate attempt at love
A love often made wrong from despair
Dying for something not meant to be
But how long can one wait?
What will one sacrifice?
How long before God calls to them to enter the door?
That final passage to a life unknown to us all
That place where words are frozen to a present
that will never exceed those final steps
Close your eyes and the truth is gone forever from your mind
and can never be revealed again
Open your eyes
Let out the tears
Keep living
Love eventually finds us when it's time
