And after even more perusals....
What's with the folks who keep shouting that people were OOC in HBP? How exactly does an author make her very own creations behave out of the character that she made them and therefore wishes them to be?
Damn you JKR! How dare you not make everyone in the book do exactly what I wanted them to do! I hate you now!*

At the end of the day, they're teenagers for God's sake. Please, who among us didn't change somewhat (for better or worse) when we turned 16?

Well, I am still a bit miffed that people keep saying Ginny is Mary Sue because she was perfect. Um, what? No. I didn't entirely like her for her outspoken rudeness. Same as I don't entirely like Hermione for her hypocritcal tendencies. Same as I don't entirely like Ron for his mean/negative attitude. Same as I don't entirely like Harry for lack of tact at times.
This makes them HUMAN and REAL instead of Mary Sues.

They all had flaws and they all were on show in this book. Hermione was finally beaten out in a class. We all know she's never liked being less than perfect, so why was it shocking when she got sour because she was bested by her best friend, who was technically cheating to get there? Ginny has been coming on gradually since the last book when she decided it was best to leave Harry to his own devices. As to the people saying that it was obvious that she didn't even like him anymore because what girl would parade her boyfriends in front of the boy they fancied?...
Oh, I dunno. MOST would. Have we all forgotten about mind games and jealousy? Usually come out in full force around that age and never really go away.
And Ginny was quite a bit of an asshole, it was great.
