this was really awesome. I loved how you took this bold step to show in few words how nerve racking and draining the possibility of contracting HIV is. I felt Draco's worry and his denial and this, such a beautiful fic

That could have gone so much worse. I'm glad Draco didn't have it. I really liked this piece. It was well written. Great job and keep up the good work.

But what was making him so sick, then?

Ah, I was wondering if someone was going to ask me that. I've determined that it was simply the flu. It has happened to people, they have severe flu symptoms and it is assumed it could be related to an STD, especially when contracted after a sexual encounter. I made his symptoms out to be much more severe than they were in Draco's head, because he'd never been sick before. It wasn't something he could easily brush off as a seasonal occurence, you know?

Damn. I'll shut up now.

My only quibble: It's bad medical ethics (and in the US, illegal in most states) to give someone their results this way. Results should always be given verbally by a physician or trained counselor who is prepared to help the patient cope. (Some patients break down even after getting a negative result, just from sheer relief.)

I understand. I was just going off from my own personal experience and others whom I've talked to. We received our results in a similar manner to how I've written this (I actually received mine through the mail), most likely because all of our results were negative.

Thank you for reading.

This is really sweet.

And it's a good reminder to everyone that they should get tested with every partner they have.
