Say a big wah-fucking-hoo for antibiotics. I am feeling almost human again, after spending Friday mostly asleep and getting some azithromycin. The bad news is that I will be unable to drink on my birthday, because I will be taking antibiotics and alcohol makes them not work so well. But hey, at least I won't be coughing up phlegm and wandering ( Read more... )

Wow, you really did catch the plague on the plane, didn't you? I'm sorry it's been so bad, but yay for drugs, and I hope you're well on the mend by now.

I am much better, but not out of the woods yet. One more dose of antibiotics tomorrow, and with a little care I should be okay. Friday was a miserable day!

that's funny. i touch people, i think, at least nudges at the movies, but i can't remember the last time i had a hug. if i had to guess, i'd put it in january when my aunt visited. that might be because all the huggy people are gone from my life, though.

I love that you're writing about touch. Oddly enough, I had the opposite opinion. I too notice touch a lot (and especially how rarely people touch over here), and I was particularly struck by how comfortable people were in the Arizonan tribal community with touch, of all kinds, and also words and expressions of feeling for each other. I could be myself there, and it made me more comfortable to be myself back here when I returned (which, funnily enough, was about, ooh five or six years ago, and you know what has happened since then)! I've since realised it's not the fact it was America, or Arizona. It was just that it was a tribal community, and tribal out there draws people with similar outlooks ( ... )
