Is it not a sad world we live in, that you loose touch with people - I mean real people as a person you meet face to face - in this 'electronic age ( Read more... )

I have FB, but I only got it to stay in touch with my neice and nephew when their father was dying. Now there's not much point, but taking it down seems silly so I just let it float and check in or post something when I can. I would never think of FB as my only means of communication though. If that were all I had in common with someone I'd not be tempted to call them a friend.

I understand your point... But I do think the way we communicate and maintain friendships has fundamentally changed in the wake of technological developments, and facebook DOES make it a lot easier to stay in touch with people when so many of us have very busy lives...
