He was a big old tomcat who never really learned to play nice with others. By the time I came inside, he was very ill and not as inclined to be as mean. My mother had a kitty that looked a lot like GrowlTiger. He came to her by accident as well.

Mom and Dad think he belonged to someone who lived in a car because he loved to be in a vehicle, so much so that once they found him in a moving van getting ready to leave for Alaska. He got chipped after that, just in case.

Thank you for sharing Growltiger and his story with us. An actor-cat, how special! I'm sure he enjoyed having you there to listen to his stories.

That's a wonderful photo of Growltiger relaxing with Dad. No matter how famous an actor you are, you still need naps and scritches. --Pippin

He was awfully big and scary at first, but he was a good big brother.

You are right, Pippin. Naps and pets are always good.

What a beautiful tail about GrowlTiger and what a special production! But just that one and then he retired. The photos are very special too, he was quite the handsome dude.

Sweet memories...

Yes, it was a one-off for him. He got big and had to start staying home becuase there wasn't a reason to keep him on campus. He would still visit, though. The other kitties were a little jealous I think, but they loved him so much that when they passed, they stayed behind and waited until it was his time, then they helped him over the bridge.
