I had a disturbing realization yesterday that only fans of Pete and Pete might be able to understand.
I think I was initially attracted to my fiance because he has red hair- and that triggered a bizarre Pavlovian response in the deep recesses of my mind: red hair = Pete and Pete = fucking AWESOME.

Disturbing, but true.

for reals! i auto-loved ron from harry potter because of the red hair, along with basically every fictitious ginger ever because of Pete & Pete. a man can be a bumbling idiot but if he has lovely red hair i go all swoony. i find myself believing that brown haired men upon whom i'm crushing have russety red highlights when they actually don't. i have told people far and wide that my perfect man is a redheaded scottish jew with a literature degree and a penchant for fancy umbrellas.
the ginger appreciation goes deep, very deep, and it can all be traced back to my gigantic crush on older pete and the tender age of seven.

I've thought to myself on more than one occasion that my boyfriend bears a striking resemblance to big pete, though his hair is more of a strawberry blond, he's got the same eyes.
