Direct TV has about 5 million channels, on just about any topic under the sun. The reception is great except for occasionally if a thunderstorm is over your house. They have their schedule of shows for wayyyyyy in advance browseable on the menu system. It's easy to use. I don't know how the pricing is, my parents had it. It was cool. The one real downside is, that I could almost always find something to watch, so I wasted a lot of my free time watching stuff. I guess that could be a positive too, but it was like "I'll see what's on", and there ALWAYS seemed like there was something cool.

Also DirecTV has TiVo service for $5 a month at the moment and TiVo > other PVR solutions.

Dish is sorely lacking in enough channels, and does not buy enough commercials. I miss cable from my new orleans house. :(

Another vote for DirecTV here. I've had it for 2 years now with no complaints.
