At long last, my Ninja 500 has arrived! Well, more like I finally got off-call, insurance, a cashiers check, and went to union city to pick it up from the dude I bought it from. 2002, 11k miles, couple extras (upgraded exhaust, frame sliders, nothing big). i think i heard her and the gixxer last night. they were pretty loud, but thankfully they turned the music up.

Where are you keeping that thing? I was thinking about getting one, but then I realized that, being that I live on a third floor apartment and have no garage, I don't have a secure place to put it overnight. Or am I being overly paranoid? It seems awfully easy for people to steal bikes, as opposed to 3-ton SUVs like my Jeep. :(

I happen to have a spot at the end of a row in underground parking, so there's a few extra feet between my car and the wall, and the bike fits nicely there.

There are lots of bike security devices (the least elegant and most effective being just chaining the damn thing to something) you can get. Of course, unless it's chained down, a few guys and a van can easily steal it and part it out.
