1) Notice how Prospero is quick to defend Caliban when the Duke and his posse make fun of him, but then repremands him. Its like a "yeah he's a freak, but he's my freak" sort of deal
2) The end monologue is said to be William Shakespeare's retiring speech.
3) Caliban and Ariel are totally different, think on this.
4) Prospero gives up one kind of "power" to embrace another
