I was just sad to learn that the Carpenters guitarist, Tony Peluso, died June 5th 2010. He was most well known for his fuzz guitar solo on the Carpenters' 1972 song "Goodbye to Love."

I always liked the song, but never had an appreciation for the historical context of marking the shift in the style of their recordings.
It makes me all the more sad when I think of how young Karen was when she passed away and what other music she and Richard would have created if things had worked out differently.
