It's preposterous. Suddenly it doesn't matter what freedoms would have to be destroyed in order to stop it, including the economic freedom of the building owners. Idiots.

They did make it sound like it was right across the street. I do agree that they have a right to put it anywhere they want to though, but it still come across as a bit insensitive.

I think I had the same, "Whachoo talkin bout, Willis" reaction when I read about this, but then my intellect kicked in and I imagined how Muslim Americans might want to build a symbol of peace near Ground Zero. A mosque could be a symbol, a reminder, to those who pervert Islam for violence that Islam forbids violence and is unwelcome. This is what I'd like to think.

Then of course there's that whole freedom of religion thingie, like, we totally should chill out man... shaa...
