Residents of Britain are still totally not in any danger of having their activities monitored every day by a succession of governments with access to far too much power to intrude into the lives of people who deserve a right to their privacy, and are increasingly being denied it.

No danger at all

Governments do, very much, give a damn that you exist, when you happen to be the kind of person that they wish didn't exist.

And the funny thing about corrupt governments, is that the kind of people they wish didn't exist are exactly the kind of people who might expose them or challenge their power as a corrupt government.

And the really funny thing about corrupt governments is that they inherit all the tools of previous governments, that were perhaps less corrupt, or even outright upstanding.
