Hello Kiddies,

If you are following me on other social media there have been wrestling tweets, Record Store Day fun, and introspective moments on what are probably the roughest two months of the year for me.

Here are two Facebook posts that were noteworthy enough to be saved here.

It's Pete here with your moment of introspective Zen. Tomorrow is my Mom's birthday, she would have been 78. I opened up Yelp for the first time in a while to an affirmation from Burton Wynne Jr., who sadly passed away a few weeks ago at far too young an age. Paid my respects to a longtime coworker and friend today who lived and worked a full life mostly without any ax to grind and rarely a complaint. I know many of you have lost loved ones as well recently and how that leaves you contemplating those lost. These things give me pause only to thank the Lord above for another day above ground and to encourage you to do the same (pick whichever deity suits you). Nobody has a guarantee and buses don't discriminate. Tomorrow I'll wake up and be glad to live, which is also something I don't take for granted anymore. Love yah kids. <3

Went to visit Mommy today, she's resting easy. Grandma and Grandpa too. I realized that tomorrow will be 20 years since Grandma left us on an Easter Sunday in 1997. As time passes, I feel far removed from these things but at the same time I carry them with me every day. With Mom it's more remembrance than mourning. I am my Mother's child. I am Venera in looks, personality, and temperament. A dear friend who probably knows me better than I know myself put it really well: 'OK Venera, what are you going to do now? You are your mother's son, she lives in you, take care of her.' So that's what I try to do. I wish I was better at it, but if she was here she would probably tell me not to worry and give myself a break. Which is also advice worth heeding. Thanks Mommy, we love you.

There's more but that's the crux of it. Spring is hard here in the HSB. Winter actually gave us a break if you can believe that. I'm leaving this unlocked since nobody's really reading here anymore anyway. The blog migration will probably happen soon and more details on that when they are ready.

We'll wrap up today with Gene Simmons giving a heartfelt eulogy to the late Chuck Berry which really speaks for itself.
