a great day... (Carnegie OHV)
Today was a day of friends and bikes up at Carnegie OHV.. We had a blast riding with two most excellent friends we had not seen in a while. Carnegie was truly a dust-bowl today, but not to crowded and the weather was great. We hit a couple of easy trails and spent a lot of time on the rocky, gravelly, and bumpy "flats". I can't seem to get myself motivated today.. sheeesh, I guess it's the heat. All I really want to do is go up to the lake and float around with beer. Sigh, stoopid real world always interfering with my beer - floaty - goodness. Today is, all in all, a fine day. hot weather and..
Hoooo boy do I love summer in the east bay, that weather is hot and everyone is out to enjoy it. Man, I do love the miniskirt what a wonderful invention. The first few hot days of summer are the human version of spring, everything that was all closed up in winter just blooms, lots of color and more smiles and a bounce in our collective social step ( Read more... ) -

This last weekend was awesome.. We took the bikes and joined some friends up at Blue Lake OHV area, a beautiful area 50 miles above Kirkwood off highway 88 in the Sierra's. The lake is at 8000ft and the MC / 4x4 roads and trails can take you well above 9000ft (above the tree line, it's very cool.). We tent camped and even though it was in the 30' ( Read more... ) -
Fun in the dirt (or: I'm an idiot)
We hit the hills at Carnegie yesterday, got a chance to break in the new bike and really tore it up. Dana got a chance to get used to her bike and she really likes it. I am in love with my DRZ, it's got plenty of power and handles very well (light steering and very nimble in the scrub). The only problem (here is the idiot part).. Well I'm the proud owner of an 07' DRZ400E and while I love the bike for all it is... I'm really kinda sad I did not press the issue harder and gotten the DRZ400S, the street legal model. I had sort of offered to give up the street, if my wife got serious about riding dirt and got a dirt bike (I must admit I never really thought she'd go for it... ( Read more... ) -
Jericho is dead
Let me get this straight.... Jericho, by far the best thing on TV in a looong time, gets canceled. But crap like Idiot Idol, Prancing with D-list stars, and Survivor are the biggest thing since sliced bread? What the hell is wrong with this country.. These "reality" shows are freaking HORRIBLE, the worst of our "peek over the back fence" nature ( Read more... ) -
