Peter, how are the lyrics to my songs based on your tunes:

http://filkmoshez.wordpress.com/wildmage/
Both are based on books that you have probably not read... :)

I've been meaning to record that one for a while, once I realized I hadn't already. Oddly I haven't even written out the lyrics yet. For the record (chords later)

A cold grey day in the heart of dark December
When sadness fell like the rain to the ground
I had no cash for to buy anti-depressants
But I could afford a ukulele
It was bright and yellow and played the major chords
So I bought myself a ukulele

You can't be sad when you play the ukulele
You can't be sad with a uke in your hands
You can't be sad when you play the ukulele
You can't be sad with a uke
It's bright and yellow and plays the major chords
You can't be say with a uke

(repeat second verse perky and syncopated)

I was looking for the lyrics to the...what was it, an alien national anthem? The refrain had "Argle bargle, argle bargle, blarf blarf blarf"...

Thanks for asking. Here it is:

Frenobulax
by Peter Alway

Frenobulax, Frenobulax, o planet of my birth
Frenobulax, Frenobulax, I do not come from Earth
Frenobulax, Frenobulax, I will oppose your foes
But I don't know, Frenobulax, how your national anthem goes
so I sing

Argle blargle argle blargle blarf blarf blarf
Argle blargle argle blargle blarf blarf blarf
Argle blargle argle blargle blarf blarf blarf
Argle blargle argle blargle blarf

Frenobulax, where normal folk have twenty-seven toes
Deformed I was when I was born, I only have one nose
I lost my third and fourth arms in a tragic accident
To blend in with the populace to Earth dad had me sent
Where I sing

Argle blargle argle blargle blarf blarf blarf
Argle blargle argle blargle blarf blarf blarf
Argle blargle argle blargle blarf blarf blarf
Argle blargle argle blargle blarf

Delightful! Though I forget which arm I have to lift to put which hand over which heart. (Oh well.) I've also just had a notion that's probably already occurred to you, and seems appropriately Frenobulaxian: a doubleneck uke that combines a standard uke and a baritone uke -- maybe steel strings on the baritone so you could use an E-bow on it, put transducers on both bridges, run it through a digital delay ... okay, I'm much better now. Thanks for your patience. ;-)

Hmmm...not a bad idea for a weird instrument at all.
