FAWM Song No. 7: The Red Squirrel's Song
I'm not going to try to get all 14 songs done for FAWM this year. Number 7 may be my last unless the muse strikes, but I still count this years FAWM as a success--I feel like I've got one really good song out of it, and a couple I might use in circles. It sure beats last year's zero songs.
This song started with acmespaceship's prompt: Walking alone in the woods. When it's freakin' insanely cold. Looking for squirrels. I figure you have experience with this ;-) In Lydian mode?
OK, so It's not about winter. But it's sort of in Lydian mode (each line is in Lydian mode with respect to the root chord for that line. I think. Sort of. Well, I tried).
It's actually the story behind this photograph:
And it's got some scientific Latin. Sciuridae is the squirrel family and Tamiasciurus hudsonicus is the Red Squirrel, AKA Pine Squirrel, AKA Chickaree.
