i've been out of the loop for a couple of days, because i was busy dealing with my grandfathers funeral, but i am astounded by the lack of responsible action taken by our federal government in this hurricane issue....i mean its been pretty much common knowledge that new orleans couldn't afford to take a hurricane over a catagory 2, i remember

I concur wholeheartedly with the premise of your post. I don't think people realize how precarious our nation has become due to the foolish choices being made within the government and by those that elected them. The actions of our nation are tensing our relations on the global stage plus having our military and economy focused overseas has left our country vulnerable not only to attack but unable to provide necessary assistence in an emergency. I try to stray away from doomsday rants but if society as a whole doesn't work to reverse the current melange of stupidity a cataclysmic consequence is probable at some not too far off point.
