Hi, I'm thinking of studying at the MTC, can you tell me a bit about the teaching methods and styles? Is it mostly reading and writing based? And do they use pinyin, or bopomofo? On the whole, did you feel the school was effective for you and other students?

It is both reading and writing based, but also a lot of verbal repetition and practice.

Some teacher make students learn Bopomofo, but the texts have both pinyin and bopomofo so if you know pinyin it shouldn't be a problem. I knew pinyin and didn't learn bopomofo and was ok.

I do think the school was effective. It is nice to have friends and classmates from all over the world. I miss that aspect of it a lot.

When you apply pay attention to the deadline If you miss it you will have to wait for the next quarter. There are no exceptions.
