The 'fanfare' is a great song! Horns oozing with nostalgia is all a man needs to slide down to memory lane.
I've had this song in my head for a while now and last Sunday the nostalgic feeling washed over me like a waterfall (not Niagara, but Coo maybe). A few old friends were sitting on a 'terraske', having a fine old time playing a boardgame. I ( Read more... )

Speaking of old friends, I saw Domien yesterday. He lives in the south of france now and comes over once in a while for some session in some selfdiscovery course. We had drinks in the met and he told me about his new path to enlightenment. He hadn't changed a bit, but he seemed very happy.

"Thanks for the memories and maybe we'll hook up again some day when we have more things in common again." is the only thing I could come up with to say to them. Too bad I only found that out while writing this. :)

Too bad, but I suppose at least another old friend might read that ;)

Interesting thought.
I think a lot of it depends on your lifestyle tbh, if you are willing to explore more than average you will also move a lot (letterlijk en figuurlijk) which will bring you into new environments.

Personally I also think back with nostalgia to some of the friends I dont see anymore without ever having fallen out with them.
To me its important to remember why we connected and why they inspired me and as long as I do that I feel I still am a better person (personal opinion!) today because of them although we have lost touch.
That way our friendship might have gone silent but never goes lost.

Thanks for the good times and inspiration Peter, hope we might hook up again sometime :)
