"malathion, which is looking like a hard-science backed culprit in some forms of ADHD," - that's interesting, because it must be something, and the vaccine allegation is distinctly not hard-science backed.

Pesticides in food is not something I know much about but it does scare me. I recall reading once that for several pesticides, there was little evidence they actually lead to reduction in insects!

In Canada, "organic" is also poorly defined.

ADHD is the attention-deficit problem, not the autism problem, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were links to more diseases. Some of these pesticides came directly out of WWII nerve gas research. I just read this recently about malathion:

Bad, too, because I used to use malathion on vegetables years ago (10-15?) to get rid of aphids and such. Won't be touching that now.

How's the jet-lag now that you're back from the far side of the world?

Yeah, I believe (I could be wrong) that they now think there is a spectrum of diseases and that they are related (though, I guess the vaccine allegation was only directed at autism). ADHD is also definitely on the rise.

I spent five days in Chicago, almost my own time zone, taking it pretty easy. I think the jet-lag is over, but I'm still not really energetic.

This bothers me as I tend to eat lot of apples and berries as part of my diet. I doubt we'll be able to afford organic, either.
