Dude, I want to study abroad in Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, or maybe Romania. But noooo.... for whatever reason, study abroad programs are afraid of Eastern Europe... racist pricks.
Madrid's alright. At least it has the Prado, which is totally awesome, and makes up for the rest of the city, which I found to be oddly staid for a European city. I think Michener described Madrid as feeling more like a museum of a city than an actual living city. But hey, living there for an entire year, I'm sure you'll find the "happen'n" (as you kids say) spots. Plus there's always Barcelona a train ride away.
Pshaw, Madrid is where it's at. But yeah, hopefully in a year I'll be able to find one of those hoppin' clubs where one might find music enjoyed by the modern generation of disrespectful youths.
I've been there a few times, but my memories have been sort of obscured by the passing of many years. Regardless of staidness, pretty much any city in continental Europe is a train ride away, so it should definitely be a good year.

As a Spanish major though, Madrid is pretty much where it's at.
