The spider is positively terrifying!!
But I love the pictures of the poi (Fire dancers) and the hula-hooping girl. Though they did make me feel like my life is utterly boring.
You should post more often.

Well, thanks for the encouragement. I'll try to post more often. Do these make my life seem exciting?

You shouldn't take shame in sprucing up your pictures with a little contrast. It's not that I have some amazing talent that allows me to extract amazingly vivd colors from every shot. I mean, I am good at choosing shots that do have good colors, and the skies are vivid because of the polarizing filter on my lens, so it's not all computer. But a truly finished looking digital photo can rarely ever be unedited... it would never look finished. All I do when I edit them is make them look like they did on my LCD on the camera. I believe that's what they're intended to look like, but when you put them on the computer there's an inherent lack of color intensity and contrast; you rarely get any saturated blacks. So, I think touching up photos is a very necessary part of photography. No professional photograph that we see is completely unedited. It would look washed-out and less dramatic. Anyway, that's just my view on it. I think you should allow yourself a bit of editing.

very nice, especially the highway ones; of course the sky in the first one is great, but mostly i like the angle of it, kinda a contrasting humor; the colors are very nice in the second one and the blur is particularly...just right.

I'm glad you liked the highway ones; in the first shot, I was worried I only liked it because of the hindsight bias of having been there and seeing immediately that it was a highway when I looked at it, and that the box shapes at the top are trucks surmounting a hill. It adds drama to know that. Good to know it's obvious, because a lot of times people don't know what my pictures are actually of, even when I think it to be very obvious. Then they don't understand why I like them.
