I've noticed something on dating sites that surprises me a little. I hope I'm not being TOO narrow minded, but I find it odd that there are so many women who are in their 40s (their early 40s, admittedly) who say they don't want to date any guys not interested in having kids. Narrow minded - perhaps a bit on this one. 40 is actually pretty young to be having a kid. Auggie and I have talked about adopting and/or trying a surrogate pregnancy in the next 5 or so years ... I'm 35 ... does that mean I'm too old now to think about perhaps doing this maybe in the future perhaps?

I might just be behind in my knowledge of medicine. It just sounded old to me to be having a first kid via pregnancy.

Well, with advances in prenatal care and technology and the fact that people are taking care of themselves better in life - especially those who are 40 and above. Sure, the chance of something going wrong increases the older you get. But hey - I say who cares how old you are - just keep on keeping on.
