This is a review of Pete's entry about "The Divine image" and "On Another's Sorrow". All Pete's entries are very creative and easy to read. I chose this entry because I also looked at "On Another's Sorrow"in my essay and I thought I'd compare my ideas with Pete's ideas. I agree with Pete that "Human beings show emotions of sorrow, sympathy and pity and Blake states that God also shares these feelings". I'd like to add that i think Blake also shows the empathy of God. That he can place himself in our shoes like a mothers response to her crying baby or a fathers response to an upset child. This means that if we are upset or having problems God will comfort us.
Another reason why I think God has empathy for our pain is that Jesus/God was actually a human for a while and experienced a variety of pain, sorrow and other emotions while he was here on earth.
I also think the image of the Michaelangelo painting is very effective. It really demonstrate his connection with people on different levels.
Thanks for your insights Pete!
