So, yeah the one thing I didn't mention: I am very happy that Crash won best picture. It was exquisite and it was applicable to everyone. Plus, I thought it said everything that everyone generally things. And why is it an upset?
Because there were very few indications that it would win--all signs pointed to Brokeback Mountain, based upon how it took Best Picture at every other awards ceremony except the SAGs. Crash also had going against it the fact that it was released in theatres way back in April of 2005, but this was combatted by an aggressive advertising campaign with the DVD release. And that, I feel, saved the picture from obscurity.
